It is no secret that the 6.5 Creedmoor has really taken off in popularity over the past couple of years. With its outstanding long range ballistics and its design features that promote inherient accuracy, it is no surprise. With more and more long range rifles and ammunition becoming available in this chambering and with organizations such as the USMC taking a serious look at it, we figured it was time to add it to our sniping cartridges area.  You can view the areas below.

We plan to add a match grade ammo comparison of the 6.5 CM as well

I thought this would be a great place to get my question answered. What is the advantage of the 6.5 Creedmoor over the 6.5-284?

The 6.5×284 is a real beast and it’ll shoot the same bullets faster than the 6.5 CM, the big downside to the 6.5×284 is that it is brutal on barrels and will burn through them quiet quickly. The cases also have a rebated rim on them where the case is wider than the case head, or rim, which can cause some feeding issues on some rifles as well. (Though that is not as big of a deal).
