Dead Center is an autobiography written by Ed Kugler about his two years spent in Vietnam as a USMC Scout Sniper. Mr. Kugler does a very good job writing about his experiences and the book reads easy. Ed’s time in country was not spent as a traditional sniper, instead, his role was more of a small unit hit and run squad. He relates in the book about times when he and his teammates used their traditional sniping skills, but it is just not as much as some might think. I actually think Ed’s experience is more in line with what most soldiers experience who spend time as an operational sniper. I enjoyed reading this book, and recommend it.
