Some may not like the color choice but, this is me.
It's been a while since I had a 1911 so I figured I better get while the getting's good. I started this 1911 with the slide job and had all intentions to finish it. With Rifle builds going I asked Jim Clark Jr. to finish fitting the other parts. The frame & slide were slightly out of spec and he had a time fitting it up, glad I asked him to do it If you ever need 1911 work, Jim Clark, Jr. is your man. :-) of a nice guy.
My .260 in the back ground.

This pistol is obviously of very high quality. The beautiful machine work is readily apparent. If only all 1911s were so well made.
I won't comment on the color but please change the grips screws. Hex screws on a 1911 are a dangerous departure from the gospel of the prophet Browning.

John Browning being the absolute mechanical genius he was designed the 1911 so it could be dissembled completely by hand with no tools. The Browning machine gun was designed and drawn by John Browning on a napkin during a short trip as I understand it. When I say he was a genius, that’s a gross understatement. The thumb safety pin would be used to remove the main spring housing, the main spring could then be removed and the flat tab used to remove the grip screws.
I understand Fluffy. He loves and respects the clean lines of the original 1911 with no frills, bells or whistles. This is what he means when he speaks of the 1911. I knew he wouldn’t like the colors but hey, I don’t like the Swiss K Rifles so I guess were even. I built my 1911 to be a clean no frills carry sidearm with a tactical flair. My other sidearm is a Beretta 96FS with night sites and is all black. _________________ William Roscoe

A 1911 after my own heart. The first handgun I ever bought was a Springer Champion in the black and green 2 tone. Something about the color scheme stuck and now all of my modern guns with synthetic furniture have the same color scheme. In fact I just finished baking the frame of a RIA 1911 in OD gunkote that is my IDPA project gun. _________________

I really do like Mr. Roscoe's pistol, but it would appeal to me more if it were entirely black. Or parkerized.
Does anyone here remember the late Armand Swenson? Mr. Swenson was the second greatest 1911 gunsmith after Browning. Anyway, Swenson was the father of the custom 1911 as we know it today. He invented the extended safety, the ambidexterous safety etc.
Swenson also used to use industrial hard chrome as a finish. No-one does that anymore. Hmmm......

I knew that hard chrome plating is still available; however, you never see it much anymore. It is sadly out of fashion.
Anyway, I wish that Mr. Roscoe would build a few more 1911s and then have them hard chromed.
