Considering buying this one, my main concern is I understabnd some earlier 357 SIG platforms were essentially .40 platform with a .357 SIG barrel added after the fact. Apparantly in some cases this has resulted in premature wear to a system designed for the lower .40 pressures. I'nm a big fan of Beretta pistols, but I wonder why this was the only .357 sig Beretta ever made and, and they no longer make it, or even chamber any .357 SIG pistols. Leastwise far as I know. Any input appreciated. _________________ !!!
The Cougar platform had problems with higher pressure loads. Standard 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP weren't a problem but +P and the 357 Sig had some problems (mainly wear and tear on the rotating barrel and lug). _________________ Fast is fine. Accuracy is final. Thanks for the comeback S, I appreciate it. Yes I was afraid of that, and by now I've heard that elsewhere as well. I guess now I'm looking at SIG or HK, I wonder if they make the USP in 357 SIG. Maybe a SIG Pro, FGW has them for $600 _________________ !!!

As far as S&W Revolvers, ditch the 66 and opt for the 686 or 681. If blue is your thing 586 or 581. I've carried the 686 and 681 during my LEO days and patrol. Semi-Auto is the way to fly if you ask me. The .357 Sig is a strong sidearm but, for Semi-Autos, 45acp or 40S&W ammo would be easier to find in a pinch. .357 or .38spl for a recolver. _________________ William Roscoe
