Nice info, here in Australia the equivalent powder to IMR-4064 is ADI-2208. But in the ADI loading data details it lists the following

168gr projectile
24" Barrel
42.0gr 2520fps
46.0gr Compressed 2730fps

quote:According to my Hodgdon manual the starting load for the 168 grain bullet in .308 Winchester is 41.0 grains of IMR-4064. The maximum load is 43 grains. I bet that something about 42 grains would be right.

Its just got me a little concerned that our ADI 2208 is supposed to be a close match with in 5%.. anyway here is the ADI page.

Has anyone used ADI 2208 as a replacement for IMR 4064 and if so what powder charge are you using. I don't really want to go anywhere near compressing loads.

I believe 2208 is equivalent to Varget not IMR4064, the same or similar burning rate does not mean the charge weight is the same!
Edit: This is just my belief, always follow safe loading procedures.
