Comments: This is HSM’s version of the 190gr Match load, but they load it a bit hotter than Federal does with a published velocity of over 3000 fps. While it did not reach that speed from the Ruger, it was actually above 3100 fps in the Tac Ops. The accuracy of this load was also very good in both rifles shooting the best average group as well as the tightest single group from both rifles during Phase 1 testing. With the little extra speed and the good accuracy, this is a solid long range load from a 300 WM rifle.

Ruger Hawkeye Long Range Target – Test Results
Average Velocity Standard Deviation Extreme Spread Accuracy w/flyers Accuracy no flyers Best Group
2965 fps 15.85 52 .884″ .884″ .359″
  • It is down 100 fps over published speeds
  • The Standard Deviation was good with this load.
  • Price is also competitive for this ammo, though no 300WM is cheap.
  • Best group of Phase 1 testing was fired with this ammo.
Tactical Operations Alpha-66 – Test Results
