Ruger just announced the introduction of new chamberings for their Hawkeye Long-Range Target rifle. This rifle was originally chambered for only the 300 Win Mag, which made for a formidable long range rifle. Now Ruger has just announced the availability of this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC. These short action cartridges will add additional capability to this rifle.

The M77 Hawkeye LR Target rifles feature a heavy-contour target barrel and a muzzlebrake to help control recoil. The barrel also uses 5R rifling and is cold hammer-forged. Included is a 20 MOA rail mounted on the M77 control round feed action and the stock has an adjustable comb and length of pull. There is a two stage adjustable target trigger and three position safety. The rifle uses AI style magazines and while it is not marketed as a tactical rifle, it checks all the right the boxes quiet nicely and we plan to bring in a 300 Win Mag version for evaluation very soon.

Retail price is $1279, but street prices should be under $1000.

Meaning taking a stock of of the Ruger Hawkeye Long Range and putting it on the Remington? No, the actions are significantly different.

That is a very good question and I have not heard any real world data to give you a solid answer…but I would guess it is less than 2000 rounds.
