Description

The Mossberg rifles are not widely known as being precision tactical rifles but for an affordable rifle that provides good accuracy, the Mossberg MVP Long Range with its 20″ long medium heavy barrel is not a bad place to look. The barrel has some light fluting and it is threaded for a suppressor (5/8″-24) and comes with a thread protect cap. There is a large bolt knob and an adjustable trigger (3-7 lbs). The synthetic stock helps for all weather conditions and there is an adjustable cheekpiece that is rubberized to help minimize slipping. The rifle comes with a picatinny style rail for scope mounting. These Long Range rifles are not a bad place to start for an entry level tactical rifle.

1 review for Mossberg MVP Long Range

  1. 4 out of 5

I have had the mvp long range ever since they were introduced . So far I have been pleased with my purchase the rifle is accurate especially with hornady 168 grain amax bullets . I have tested it with the factory magazine , 10 shot sr25/dpms patern mag-pul , 10 and 20 round m14 magazines with no issues although the 20 round m1a mag tended to be a bit cumbersome .
The trigger is decent and I really have not had anything to complain about I put a trijicon 4x16x50 accupower with moa reticle on the rifle and really like the combination . I have confirmed the threads on the barrel are concentric to the bore by using my yhm 7.62 phantom , the point of impact change is around .5 inches at 100 yds and repeatable with no real effect on group size. for the money invested its a pretty good bargin.
