This load takes the 30-06 to new heights in terms of making it a viable long range cartridge. The 208 Amax bullet with its sky high BC of .648 performs great from the standard 30-06 1:10" barrels and with a velocity of 2700 fps from a 26" barrel, this heavy weight load does very well out past 1000+ yards. It seems the 30-06 likes heavier bullets and it is surprising what velocities you can get with them.
